This policy explains how Helicity, LLC handles information when you use Code Mochi at www.codemochi.com or courses.codemochi.com. Code Mochi is a public developer blog and an archive of courses originally published in 2020 and 2021.

Who operates Code Mochi

Code Mochi is operated by Helicity, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. Privacy questions can be sent to stephen@codemochi.com.

Information collected when you visit

The current sites do not offer accounts, checkout, comments, or a mailing list. Like most websites, the hosting and security providers may process an IP address, browser information, requested URL, timestamp, and similar request metadata to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.

Anonymous audience measurement

Code Mochi uses PostHog in its always-cookieless mode to understand total visits and which public pages are useful. We send a site label and the public page path. PostHog receives normal network metadata needed to deliver the request and creates a server-side, short-lived anonymous hash for daily measurement. We do not set an analytics cookie, write an analytics identifier to local storage, create a person profile, identify visitors, record sessions, or use this information for advertising.

The sites respect the browser’s Do Not Track signal. You can also disable future anonymous analytics below. Doing so sets one first-party preference cookie, cm_analytics=off, for up to one year so both Code Mochi domains can remember the choice.

Embedded video and external links

Articles may include YouTube videos. The YouTube player is not loaded until you select “Load video.” Once loaded, YouTube receives your IP address, browser information, and the page requesting the video, and may use its own cookies or similar technologies under its policy. Course archive videos are served directly from the Code Mochi video domain without a third-party player. Following any external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Historical course records

Code Mochi previously sold courses and provided student accounts. Limited historical business records may be retained when needed for customer support, accounting, tax, or legal purposes. They are not used to create new accounts, advertise to former students, or track use of the public archive.

Service providers

Providers used to operate the current Code Mochi sites include Cloudflare and GitHub for hosting and delivery, PostHog for cookieless audience measurement, and YouTube for video delivery after visitor action. Providers process information under their own terms and applicable data-processing commitments.

Retention and security

Anonymous analytics are retained only while useful for understanding the sites. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the provider’s operational settings. Limited historical business records may be retained for legitimate support, accounting, tax, and legal needs.

Your choices and rights

You may disable anonymous analytics above, use Do Not Track, decline to load embedded video, or use browser controls to remove cookies and site data. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information. Contact stephen@codemochi.com to make a request. Helicity, LLC does not sell personal information.

Children

Code Mochi is not directed to children under 13, and Helicity, LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the sites or their providers change. The date above will be revised when material changes are published.
